Choti Bahu 14th July 2010 Written Update:
Part 1:
The episode begins where we left off from yesterday. Rajan is telling Kanika that he has done so much to hide her fake marriage lie. Suddenly MR is at the threshold and brother and sister duo both freak out and think MR has heard their conversation. But alas, she has not…instead she starts scolding Rajan in front of Kanika, saying, are you telling your sis all about your evil deeds? You shameless idiot, how do you think Vibha will feel when she comes to know that you kidnapped a girl and were going to misbehave with her? You stupid, you are lucky that God has blessed you with a kind hearted, sweet wife, and still you do not understand how to treat her and how to behave properly? I have explained to you so many times but you never learn. She tells Kanika to try and get through Rajan’s thick skull about proper behaviour.

Over at Purohit house…Shastriji and Amma arrive to pay a visit! My gosh this witch Amma has not changed even one bit! Right away she taunts Vaishali and says, you used to live in such a palatial home and now you live here? This house looks like someone built it out of match boxes! Birju answers her back right away and says, the house may be small but there is a lot of love between all of the members of our family. By the way, how is your joint pain? You must be suffering a lot, isn’t it? Amma replies that no remedy works. Birju smartly says, at your age you cannot rely on medical remedies…all you have left are prayers. You do know how to pray and ask God’s devotees for blessings, don’t you? Vaish sees that Birju is telling Amma off, so she quickly asks him to go bring tea. Shastriji explains that Devaki had to stay back and that he brought Amma to Agra to seek medical treatment. He then inquires about Radhika and Vaish tells him that Radhika is fine and has literally saved the lives of the PF. She is not only a DIL but like a daughter to the family and they love her very, very much. Amma is seething in anger. Vaish then reveals that all these years of Radhika’s stead-fast faith in Kanha and in her suhaag has finally brought some fruits and that Dev is alive. Shastriji and Amma are shocked. Amma’s big frog eyes are bulging out of their sockets.

Part 2:
Vaish tells Shastriji that Dev is in Agra. SJ goes to Kanha deity right away and starts praying and thanking Kanha for this miracle. He then asks Vaish if Dev has returned why are they all still in Agra, they should be in Delhi as there are only two days left for the RP ceremony. He tells her that Chachoo and Arjun even invited him to the ceremony (great acting by Rajive Verma today…it’s nice to see him back on the show) Vaish is silent and Vivek dejectedly informs SJ that Dev is suffering from amnesia and does not remember Radhika, his family, or anything about being RP. Amma the witch is happy to hear this. Vaish adds that Radhika is doing everything in her power to bring Dev’s memory back and right now is in Chandanpur to find Dev and bring him home. Amma quietly takes in this information and you can tell she is planning something. SJ proclaims that he will leave everything to Kanha and is confident that Kanha will help Radhika as He has always done in the past.
The scene switches to our lovely Radhika (looking so gorgeous with her unkempt hair and saree pallu down) riding in the back of the truck she jumped onto to hitch a ride to Chandanpur. Radhika says to herself, I will be in Chandanpur soon and I will bring Dev home. I will talk with Dev and remind him of how he used to come to VR to meet me. He will remember me and remember everything about his life, I just know he will. I will help him to experience all the feelings he felt when he was courting me and when we used to spend time together. I will re-awaken his dormant love for me. Rads then begins daydreaming about her life with Dev starting from their first meeting in Nidhivan when Dev snapped a photo of her. What follows is a beautiful montage of RaDev’s sweet, romantic moments (RaDev fans, do not miss this scene, it is just awesome!) The montage is set to the song ‘Saiyan’ (sorry do not know the film it’s from but it’s a lovely song). Rads smiles happily as she remembers her love story with Dev and she says to herself, even today when I think of all these moments I feel a tingle in my spine and my heart soars. I remember each and every promise and vachchan you made to me, my husband. I have full faith that you and I will become one again.

Part 3:
The black clad dacaoit guards are doing their dance outside MR’s house, but inside she is speaking with a Pandit (a different one from the one who was at Kanika’s fake anniversary party and told her that her horoscope says she will never be a married woman). This pandit has just returned from Tirth Yatra and has put aside all other business to meet MR first. He requests her to give him back the temple she put in his care and then rescinded when he left for his yatra five years ago (who goes on yatra for five years?!) MR agrees to put the temple in his care again and adds that she feel obligated to give him dakshina (donation). When he questions why, MR replies that it was in his temple five years ago that Kanika married “Abhay” and since she could not properly thank him then, she wants to do so now. Panditji’s smile fades and he looks bewildered. He says, what are you saying MR? How could I possibly get your daughter married in your absence, and that too in the same temple you gifted to me and put in my care? MR is stunned and remembers the day Kanika came home supposedly married. We see a flashback of MR questioning Kanika about how, when, and where she got married. Kanika nervously replies that she and “Abhay” had a Gandharva vivah performed by this same pandit and he was the sole witness to their wedding. MR snaps out of her thoughts and bids the panditji farewell. After he leaves, she sits with a serious and disturbed look on her face.
Rajan is in his room when he gets a call on his cell. Two dacoit-looking men in black inform him that Radhika managed to escape their clutches and Rajan is furious. He curses them for not being able to keep a watch on her and deduces that she has run off to Chandanpur. He tells the men to follow her there. Meanwhile Radhika gets off the truck when it stops and inquires from a pedestrian where the hotel is where Dev and his associates are meeting. The man has no idea but confirms that she is in the town of Chandanpur, so at least she is in the right area.
Next we see Chachoo dropping an ice cube into his drink. He happily toasts Arjun and speaks to two or three men in suits, telling them that Arjun’s RP ceremony is near and soon each day will be a celebration. Suddenly Amma the witch arrives there and greets Chachoo, telling him, I hope your heart’s desires don’t wash away and drown in your tears.

Part 4:
Chachoo has his servants usher his guests into the next room for dinner so he can chat privately with Amma. He invites her to sit while he munches on snacks and sips his drink (Chachoo is a baddie but I love Sanjay Batra’s cool-as-a-cucumber portrayal! Chachoo even looks sharp in his suit and new wavy hairstyle! ) He asks Amma why her eyes are bulging in shock and she replies that he is the one who will be shocked when she tells him the latest news. Chachoo tells the old lady to stop speaking in riddles and be clear with what she wants to say. Amma tells him to stop weaving dreams about Arjun’s RPship and they have a few more minutes of word play. Finally, Amma drops the bomb that Dev is alive. Chachoo is stunned and puts his drink down. He rises from his chair and mutters, Dev babu is alive? Amma rubs salt into his wounds and mentions that Dev is in Chandanpur and Radhika has gone there to find him and bring him home. She also mentions that Dev has amnesia and Radhika will do all that she can to revive his memory and re-install him as RP. She tells Chachoo to celebrate all he wants because the real RP is alive and then all Chachoo will be able to do is mourn, so better to get all the celebrating out of his system. (This witch is such an expert at pitting people against one another! She hates and envies everyone and makes them hate one another too! It’s a shame that these CVs had to bring this wretched creature back into the story! ) After Amma leaves, Chachoo swears aloud that he will not let Dev snatch the RP title from Arjun. He will stop Radhika from suceeding to bring Dev’s memory back at all costs. He dials up his hit men and tells them to finish Dev off in Chandanpur itself, threatening to kill them if they fail in their mission. Amma is standing just outside the door and overhears the conversation. She smiles her evil smile, thinking that she is victorious (yet once again this hateful monster has underestimated the power of Kanha and the strength of RaDev’s eternal love!) Episode ends.

Precap: MR asks Kanika, you married Abhay babu in the Tirth mandir, did you? And our family priest is the one who conducted your marriage? Kanika looks very afraid and slowly nods her head yes. MR then slaps her hard.

Comments: Day three without Avi, so episode main itna mazaa nahin tha. The best part was the RaDev montage/Rads’ daydream. At least we got to see our glorious RaDev romantic moments, if only for two minutes. I hope and pray that Avi is getting some much-needed rest and recovering. I can’t wait to see RaDev in Chandanpur! If we don’t get the RaDev payal scene that was in the precap, I will be very upset! Seems like that precap was shot much earlier and then Avi took a few days off to recuperate so they had to film additional scenes and throw in some more precaps until Avi is able to resume shooting. Today’s precap was interesting too. Seems like MR is very suspicious of Kanika now. I hope the precap comes true and Kanika gets that tight slap. First Rajan and then Kanika…that would be great to watch as these two snakes deserve it!
